She is known best as Kate Capshaw, an American actress who has retired. Her role in the role of Willie Scott (an American nightclub performer and singer) in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), directed by her husband Steven Spielberg, is her most well-known. Since then, she's appeared in Dreamscape (1984), Power (1986), SpaceCamp (1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (1994), Just Cause (1995), and The Love Letter (1999). Capshaw who's portrait has been shown in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), beauty therapist and travel agent, as well as Edwin Leon Nail, an employee at the airline. At the age of five, she moved to St. Louis and graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw graduated with a degree from education from the University of Missouri, where she was a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She was the special education teacher at Southern Boone High School Ashland, Missouri and Rock Bridge High School Columbia, Missouri.
